Cooperation with Microsoft opens up new opportunities

SHEI "Uzhhorod National University" signed an agreement with Microsoft on the implementation of the programme Microsoft Imagine Academy.

Microsoft Imagine Academy is an international programme for training IT professionals that was developed specifically for educational institutions and successfully launched in many countries. This programme is one of the steps taken by Microsoft to provide Ukrainian experts with the knowledge about Microsoft products.

Nowadays, over 50% of jobs require a particular level of IT knowledge. According to experts, this need will increase to 80% in all jobs. Thus, in the coming years, there will be a significant shortage of specialists with necessary IT skills. In turn, this will create a certain level of expectations of IT skills from university graduates. In response to labour market needs, Microsoft has developed and is continually updating the contents of the programme Imagine Academy.

 Programme objectives are to help educational institutions provide students with high quality educational services in advanced Microsoft information technologies. The programme covers various areas of information technologies including the work with custom desktop applications and training IT professionals on a wide range of specialties. Microsoft Imagine Academy programme allows integration of Micrsoft standards recognized by employers into existing curricula.

Cooperation with Microsoft provides us with the following benefits:

• Access to a large number of Imagine Academy training courses on Microsoft Technologies developed for Future IT specialists and the courses on office technologies for students and teachers;

Microsoft Imagine enables students, teachers and researchers to use licensed Microsoft software in classrooms;

Office 365 Service includes e-mail, calendar, online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, web conferencing and other apps;

• Free Microsoft Virtual Academy training courses.
